smell doesn't rinse away February 7, 2010 kate (DORCHESTER, MA USA) I bought this because I thought it was environmentally friendly. However, I have several complaints: the smell is very, very strong - I can smell it through the entire house. It's too sweet and perfumey for me. And it doesn't doesn't rinse off easily. Unless I scrub and scrub when I rinse, and rinse multiple times, the dishes retain the smell, and I can taste it in my food. Having to use buckets and buckets of water to rinse isn't very environmentally friendly. Additionally, the bottle is very hard to use. The top twists in a weird way and the soap barely comes out. It also doesn't suds very well, but that I could live with.
I had a similar problem (actually even worse) with another environmentally friendly dish soap that I purchased from Costco (unfortunately in a giant size). It simply wouldn't rinse off. I don't know if this is common to these environmental products or I was just unlucky twice in a row.
At any rate, I can't recommend this product to anyone with a sensitive sense of smell. I would love to find a product that works, but I may just have to go back to regular dish soap.
I luv this product December 30, 2009 Animal Lover (USA) It's the best and biodegradeable too! It doesn't leave a soapy film. It cleans and rinses very nicely and has that light cucumber scent. Easy on the nasal passages too.
Try it. You will luv it too.
Leaves soapy taste April 6, 2009 W. Armstrong 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Usually I really like Method products. This one was very disappointing. I washed a couple of water bottles and a bunch of pots with this soap. Now all of the water from the bottles tastes like the soap. They have been rinsed repeatedly and washed with a different soap. The Method Soap taste will not go away. The same is true for food cooked in the pots I washed. Vegetables taste like they were steamed in soap.
Sudsy Method Dish Soap March 16, 2009 Judy Lewandowski (Oak Creek, WI) I am really pleased with this dish soap. It suds up nicely and cleans really great while not doing damage to the enviornment! Love the pleasant cucumber smell.
Very, Very Cucumber August 27, 2008 LH422 (Washington, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Where to begin? Method makes good dish soap. It cleans well and usually smells wonderful. The cucumber version is no exception. This soap offers a strong cucumber scent, one that smells very clean and fresh. It cleans just as well as any other dish soap I've ever used, so no worries about compromising cleaning power for environmental friendliness. My one reservation, and the reason I gave this product a 4 instead of a 5, is that the cucumber scent is sometimes so strong that it remains on my dishes, and I don't want to be smelling cucumber through my spaghetti sauce. This is the only scent with which I've had that problem. Otherwise, I'm very pleased, and I still use this stuff because I like the cucumber scent, even if it is too strong.
