I had the same problems as everyone else; my dishes were cloudy as was the inside of my two-year old Bosch. First, I ran the empty dishwasher with Glisten and it looked brand new. The directions inside the box of Glisten say that it can be used when loaded with dishes. I did this next and all my cloudy dishes and glasses are sparkling clean. I just ordered a six-pack of Glisten. Great product.

Well. it didn't damage my washing machine, but it did not do much either. My dish washing machine is about ten years old with a plastic interior that is getting stains and is also doing a increasingly poor job of washing the dishes. This product did not clean up the stains nor did it improve function. It may be that it is most helpful with hard water problems, which was not the case with me.

I used this product years ago due to iron stains in my dishwasher. Suddenly, after moving to a new house and different city the same happened again. Glisten left my dishwasher bright white and looking like new.

I purchased Glisten to clean up a dishwasher (7years old) which had a bad odor and seemed to have a mold/mildew issue. I bought 2 boxes because of recommendations of other users. The first box made no difference, the second application made a slight difference. After that I went online where it was suggested that I first run through a cup of bleach, then run a container of Tang and finally a 1/2 cup of vinegar (separate empty cycles). The cup of bleach made the biggest difference and I got in there and scrubbed things with an old toothbrush before the Tang and the Tang really brightened the dishwasher and made it smell better and removed the residual residue. I did the vinegar cycle for good measure although it probably wasn't necessary. To prevent this from occurring again I am using a Rinse Aid product and no longer using a energy saving dry cycle. I am also using Cascade with bleach dishwasher detergent and leaving the door ajar after the cycle is complete if I can't empty right away. I have had several other dishwashers (less expensive) in my lifetime and NEVER had this problem. Save your money and use products you already have in your home to correct a dirty, smelly dishwasher problem.
