Product Description Here's something you simply can't live without. Our Dish Soap is rich, thick and makes grease disappear like nobody's business. We even added Soap Bark Extract, another ingredient from nature and one of its best degreasers. All you need is a squirt or two and you're on your way.

My whole family is hooked August 17, 2010 Reality Based Community (USA) I can't remember which of my sisters tried this dish soap first. But she presented a bottle to my mom as a gift, and all of the "the girls" eventually encountered it in Mom's kitchen whilst doing the dishes. And one by one, we commented on the dish liquid, noted the name, and decided to purchase it for our own homes.
I like the rose geranium best, but the lavender is a close second. Not only do my hands smell like roses long after washing the dishes, but the scent lingers delightfully in the kitchen.
I know that there are people who are sensitive to perfumes in household products and I'm sympathetic. Few things make washing up pleasant, but this dish soap is so delightfully scented and does such a good job that I enjoy using it and find it worth the price. I don't find that the scent lingers on the items I have washed, as others have mentioned.
Indispensible - economical and versatile May 18, 2010 Amis (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The whole family loves the lavender scent (true lavender and not overwhelming). Not only is this a really good and economical dish soap which makes the whole kitchen smell clean but we have also used it extremely successfully as a hand soap and for handwashing delicate textiles (silk scarves, fine wool knits, etcetera). It also worked outstandingly well as a cleansing/wetting agent for scouring a raw fleece for handspinning. I have occasionally even added a dash to the bath water!
I have to admit that this was a product that I was quite skeptical about trying, but I now think it is indispensible and well worth the price.
If you like your food smelling like flowers October 22, 2009 S. Miller (SF CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This stuff smells so good, I love the packaging and the hand soap but I got the dish soap and now everything I cook in my frying pan smells like flowers. Smells great, tastes not so great. I cant get the freakin flowers out either. I hate taking stuff back to the STO but this is gross.
Toxic Product August 16, 2009 Jamie Sebens (Cincinnati, OH United States) 10 out of 15 found this review helpful
Mrs. Meyer's dish soap and many other products in this line are very toxic. I'm told they made it into the 'health section' of stores because they are biodegradeable. However, they contain toxic synthetic fragrances -- note they are simply listed as 'fragrance' on the label. Synthetic fragrances are known to disrupt hormones (promoting obesity, thyroid disorders, sperm damage, and birth defects), induce or worsen respiratory problems, cause immune system supression cancer and kidney disease, and damage the brain and nervous system.
Many companies add a natural ingredient (in this case lemon verbena or lavender - if these are indeed the real thing - to pretend their product is natural. This is unethical.
For general cleaning I recommend vinegar. For dish soap - I suggest you look at other brands.
If you desire more information on fragrances and their toxic effects, Sandra Redemske of Redemske Design has put together some remarkable information.
Perfumey greenwashing August 13, 2009 Stephanie Adams (NJ) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
It suds pretty well - I'll give it that. But the nonsense about being scented with "essential oils" is greenwashed bullhockey. The scent of this product comes from artificial fragrance, with a smattering of real essence thrown in so they can charge you double. Every time I wash dishes I choke on perfume, and the smell of fake flowers blended with sink scum is not entirely pleasant. My hands seem drier, too.
I despise brands that pretend to be "eco-friendly" and "natural" just to make an extra dime off the gullible.
