3 out of 5 stars leaves white powder all over dishes   December 7, 2009
Mom2Meghan (Lone Star State)
I had very high hopes for this product as I love the clothes detergent by BioKleen. This left white spots all over our dishes regardless of how much I used, or didn't use, type of cycle, heated or non heated dry, rinse aid or no rinse aid, etc. It also didn't clean the food off the dishes like the ecover tablets....going back to the tablets by ecover....they are great!

3 out of 5 stars Trial & error to figure out how much to use   November 10, 2009
Mary Sleger
I have used 1 1/2 canisters from my case so far. I have hard water, but amount to use as stated on package must be too much because excess powder formed a crust on the bottom of my dishwasher and in the crease of the door. I cleaned it off with vinegar & baking soda (and a knife!) & will use less from now on. This could be a delicate balance between crusty soap scum & crusty dishes!

If less powder doesn't clean adequately, I'll mix half-and-half with commercial powder (Electrosol, etc...). At least I'll be using up the case & using less powder w/phosphates.

3 out of 5 stars Works okay.....but not great   October 8, 2009

I like that this product is eco-friendly, but I don't believe it works as well as the Seventh Generation product we had been using. We've had this powder for over a month and have tried various amounts, but haven't been able to find the right amount to clean all of the dishes. With this product, there is still some food residue on my plates. I've never had to scrub plates before putting them in the dishwasher...that sort of defeats the purpose. I will go back to using to the Seventh Generation product I was using before -- it's always worked great.

5 out of 5 stars Good stuff   September 15, 2009

I've been using this stuff for about 6 months now, and it works great. You only need a tiny scoop per dishwasher load. In my efforts to transition to "green" living as much as possible, this is just one more small step. This stuff works just as well as any other product I've ever used. Gets dishes clean, no weird residue, etc. I would strongly recommend this product even to folks who don't care about using biodegradable cleaning products. I will definitely be buying this again in the future. Good stuff.

5 out of 5 stars ecofriendly fragrance-free dish powder that WORKS   September 8, 2009

I was originally drawn to this product as part of my endless quest for fragrance-free cleaning products. Others may be attracted to its eco-friendly leanings. I have become a huge fan of BioKleen. Their cleaning products really work; they don't seem to sacrifice any efficacy in order to become more eco-friendly. In particular this is my absolute favorite machine dishwashing detergent. I highly recommend it. And I highly recommend buying it in cases from Amazon.

Note for those who don't bother to read the instructions: you only need 1 Tbsp per load, no need to fill your machine's dispenser. This will make it last a lot longer!
