Product Description
"Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day products are safe to use in the presence of children, pets, and expectant women. There are no solvents, no petroleum distillates, no bleach, no phosphates and no ingredients that could cause harsh fumes." A perfect sized bottle, Mrs. Meyer's Liquid Dish Soap packs a powerful punch with Soap Bark Extract-to cut grease-and a paraben-free formula so thick that it creates more bubbles than a clown at the circus. Mrs. Meyer's Liquid Dish Soap was recently featured in InStyle and Coastal Living magazines. Her products won us over with their green and good looks, and were voted most-likely-to-make-you-feel-like-you're-not-cleaning. The Liquid Dish Soap will make you forget that you're scrubbing and have you daydreaming of a stroll though the farmer's market with the fresh and energizing, yet delicate, scent of lemon verbena. The bottle flaunts a twistable cap so useful that you'll wonder why you ever used that pump dish washing soap that slips and slides everywhere. Always ammonia and phosphate free, Mrs. Meyer's products also boast 100% recyclable packaging. Mrs. Meyer's sends love to the furry folk too, with a cruelty-free promise on all her products. Go Green! Instead of running the kitchen faucet while you wash dishes, try the following method to save yourself a few gallons of water. Save an empty glass cleaner spray bottle, fill it with hot water, add a squirt of liquid dish soap, shake vigorously and voila! You've got a water-efficient way to wash dishes that will not use more than 32 oz. of water (based on an average sized glass cleaning spray bottle).

1 out of 5 stars I like smelling it, not eating it.   June 12, 2010
Brookelyn Dartagnan (On Your Mom)
I love the smell of this, but I chose it out of the samples I got based on smell, not unsniffed with hopes it would smell like basil.

However, this is the worst dish soap I have ever used. No matter how well I rinse my dishes off, this soap stays on them and ruins food. I have had several lunches I brought to work, heated, and opened the microwave to the wafting scent of hot dish soap. This gets very expensive when one works at an airport, and very difficult for someone who has food allergies and other dietary restrictions.

I have Mrs. Meyers laundry products and air freshener in this scent that I love, but this stuff leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.

5 out of 5 stars Great for stainless steel cookware   April 28, 2010

I've tried a lot of soaps and this one by far is the best for my stainless steel cookware. A lot of cleaners both natural and poisonous left a film. And I love the smell!

1 out of 5 stars Dish soap stays on dishes   February 16, 2010

I have previously used Mrs. Meyers Lavender dish soap, and I liked it.

The Basil soap, however, is a huge disappointment. Even after rinsing four times, the perfume-y smell and taste(!) lingers on dishes. It imparts this flavor into your coffee, sautés, or whatever else is unfortunate enough to come into contact with what you've just washed. After this morning's episode with horrible tasting coffee, I cannot even bear to have the smell of this soap on my hands.

1 out of 5 stars Love Mrs Meyers products, HATE this dish soap!!!   January 27, 2010

After trying the Lavender fabric softner (not the laundry soap which got so/so reviews) and the Baby Blossom stain remover, I enthusiastically purchased a case of this soap using Subscribe and Save. I recieved the shipment a few days later and tried it immediately.

Gross.

The dish soap is thick and has a strong floral scent - nothing like fresh basil. It leaves a film on your hands and plastic dishes and cutting boards, creating a film and sudsy effect I could not wash off no matter how hard I tried. The smell of the soap on my hands was unbearable - getting on food stuff even after I had rinsed several times. The soap is thick and truly should not be used near food or on anything you eat off of unless you want to lick off soap.

I will go back to Shaklee liquid dish soap. It is way more expensive and you have to pay for shipping - but is is the cleanest, purest, non-scented and most effective soap I have ever used. In this case, you do get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 stars Take the Pain out of Dishes.   January 7, 2010
A. Bird (Lake Michigan)
Ok, well, not the pain but at least add some pleasure. The soap smells nice, in a friendly not very chemical manner. Sort of like Grandma's kitchen if it's anything like the commercials. Doesn't kill your hands, and cleans dishes well.

Is it worth the extra money? You're buying a box on Amazon, making it about as cheap as dawn at your local grocery. Make sure you get super-saver shipping when you buy and give some to your friends, they might love you a little more as a result.
