1 out of 5 stars Really??!? This worked for you???   July 29, 2010
E. Kepner (Alexandria, VA United States)
I normally don't leave feedback but this item is terrible. I am hurting the environment by having to rewash my dishes multiple times in the dishwasher THEN also by hand. I am really sorry I bought this many of something that just doesn't work.

2 out of 5 stars Great idea, but just not that effective...   July 22, 2010

First, I just want to say that I support Seventh Generation and the philosophy behind their products. I have maybe a half dozen of their products in my home and have had zero complaints with any of them; that is, until these dishwasher packs.

After using a box worth (15 or 16 loads), I would estimate it's cleaning effectiveness at maybe 65-70% to that of the Cascade packs that I used previously. In my experience, these just didn't clean as well and demanded pre-cleaning before placing; an act that the Cascade did not need. Once dried, there was also a minimal, but pervasive film on the majority of the items. This would require either a post-wash wipe or a complete rinsing and drying.

The benefit of minimizing/eliminating some chemicals/etc has NOT been worth the extra cleaning effort involved when using these particular packs. Quite frankly, using this product has been a pain in the ass. I'm going back to the Cascade in the meantime, but will continue to look for more natural products that do NOT make this particular task more difficult.

4 out of 5 stars Best Eco Dishwasher Soap   February 18, 2010

I've tried other "green" dishwasher detergents. They just didn't get the job done. This stuff works and is still eco-friendly. I especially like the dish pacs because there's no waste at all. I mean, don't you hate it when you can't get the last bit out of the bottle? That's not an issue with these.

I like these so much, I get them via Subscribe & Save.

The only reason I don't give them 5 stars instead of 4? I have to kind of squash them a little to get them to fit into my dishwasher's soap holder. This is probably the fault of my dishwasher and is a very minor annoyance. Like I said, I buy these exclusively via subscription. They work.

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding version - but not their liquid form.   January 23, 2010
Brian (IA)
I've used Casca## for years with great success. Until about a year ago, it never bothered us to have harsh chemicals cleaning the dishes that we eat and drink from. Now, we only want natural products for that purpose, so we purchased the Seventh Generation Auto Dish Pacs from a local Target store. They worked BETTER than the Casca##, without the harsh chemicals!

But, upon return to Target to buy more, the Pacs were gone from the shelf and so we purchased the Seventh Generation LIQUID gel. Horrible mistake, the liquid version was probably no better than using just plain water to wash the dishes. There were bumps of dried food particles on every dish! So, I hunted online for the Pacs, and found them here on Amazon. Now, I'm the proud owner of a full case of these Pacs!

Also, we have hard-water and they work perfectly, as they have built-in ingredients that help soften the water, but unlike the liquid version, the Pacs actually work!
