Not worth the effort August 10, 2010 L. F. Ritter (FAFB, WA) Pros -
1. Got it on sale
2. Easy to put together
3. Simple to clean with seperate clean and dirty tanks
Cons -
1. Not a steamer, requires hot water
2. Suction ball continously shuts off when using cleaning agent (not a full dirty tank)
3. Spray jet near the rear of the machine, can't spray area rug without going off rug
4. Brush head does not scrub area
5. Hate buying something just to take it back and start over
Good for light duty cleaning August 2, 2010 John Jay My advice is to do your carpets with a RUG DOCTOR(tm) then use this unit to keep carpets clean. If your carpets are really dirty, this unit won't cut it. Start with Clean carpets using a Professional machine. This product is pretty good for the money but is incorrectly named "Steam Vac". This is not a STEAM CLEANER. It does not generate any steam, except for the HOT water you put in the tank. The vacuum is strong enough to suck up the dirty water the unit makes, but you must GO SLOW. Do not hurry. To do a good job, operate the unit SLOWLY. Also, clean the unit often or else it will not last very long. Keep the brush clean between uses. Check the belt. Do not use dry. Not a bad investment for the money. Envigorates the carpet fibers. Do carpets twice a month or once a week to stay up with the soiled carpets. I would reccomend this unit to maintain clean carpets.
Suction Weak July 3, 2010 Jerry J (Boise, ID USA) I am quite unhappy because this unit's suction is simply weak. I agree with Victoria.
This machine does not have the suction to pull up the water June 27, 2010 Victoria Eastburn (Trumbull, CT United States) I own the large Hoover steamer and just love it. It is so powerful and cleans up messy quickly and easily. This smaller unit has very little suction therefore I have to use my body weight to push down on the unit in order for it to suck up the water. It is a waste of money as it just does not do the job. It is too late to return the unit so I am stuck with a unit that I just will not use. Pay the extra money and get the larger unit.
Tough little cookie April 24, 2010 Sajid Ansari I bought this cleaner for simple, express carpet cleaning jobs. Having a 4 level town home, I wanted something that I could quickly whip out to clean up muddy paws, accidents, spills, etc. I wasn't looking for it to replace a Rug Doctor type job, yet to mitigate the day to day messes a pet owner experiences. I got exactly what I wanted with this product as it's an easy way to clean up after my dogs without spending a lot of time or energy. My only issue with this cleaner is that it doesn't have a separate reservoir for the detergent, so the only way to rinse up the job afterwards is empty out the reservoir and fill it with just plain water. I usually get too lazy and don't bother rinsing, which is fine if you dilute the detergent enough so it can air dry on its own.
