Great performance, but price increased and so did quality September 5, 2010 E. Morrow (CA) My wife and I liked this product so much we subscribed to it a year ago with Amazon's subscribe and save program. Not only do we get it at a regular interval, it is also less expensive that way. We use it for everything from drying hands, cleaning windows and furniture, wiping up spills, to polishing. It holds up well and doesn't often tear wet. It does not leave much lint behind when wiping windows. Recently they do not feel as soft, and the roll is smaller (used to be 70 sheet, now is 59). With this change, while I think they still do a good job, we have been looking into changing brands. So to summarize, price up, quality down. Too bad they changed the product.
Truly a Big Roll June 12, 2010 Crickett (Texas) You can not find the big roll in the stores; they say Big Roll on the wrapper but they are half the size of this roll!
Viva paper towels April 22, 2010 Sophie B. Russell05 This is the only paper towel I want to use. They are $3.00 a roll in stores. When I bought a large quantity they were only $2.00 per roll. They're the large size rolls. I didn't have to pay postage either. I estimated I have a six month supply. I could be wrong. This is the first time I've done this so time will tell. The only problem is they come in a gigantic box when delivered to my po box. I would like to have it shipped via Fed Ex next time.
My favorite paper towels ever hands down April 19, 2010 Global Mama (Chicago, IL United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
These paper towels are the best! They are cloth-like and soft and really can soak up much more than any other brand I have used. They are more expensive than a lot of brands but you will use a lot fewer of these for the same job.
Formerly a great product April 9, 2010 Susannah (Hanover, NH) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I used these towels for many years and even drove to stores miles away to get them (we live in a rural area and can't get all products nearby). We averaged 6 rolls a week in my family, and used them for everything. I even used them to clean makeup off my face, as they were softer than cotton balls, and we used vast amounts of them during hay fever season to capture our vigorous sneezes.
Over the last five years or so, the quality of Viva towels has dropped drastically. The decline in quality has been so great that there's no way a regular user of these towels could have failed to notice. They've become less absorbent and (even worse) more scratchy each time the manufacturer has tinkered with them. They used to be soft enough to use on a baby's skin; now they're scratchy as sandpaper. They ARE expensive, compared to other paper towels, and the makers should have realized that there comes a point of no return, where the consumer finds the quality has declined too much to justify the price. I wouldn't buy them now even if they were cheap. We used to average about a dozen rolls a week at my workplace, but they have switched to another brand as well - not because of the price, but because of the poor quality. The manufacturer should wake up while they still have a few customers left, but I don't expect that will happen. Cheapening is the name of the game, and those who want quality can only express their displeasure by refusing to buy.
